At Reidsville Christian, we believe faith is meant to be lived, not just listed. These beliefs shape who we are, how we follow Jesus, and how we care for one another. They are not a checklist you have to complete before you walk through our doors; they are the foundation we stand on as we invite people to Belong, Believe, and Become.

You don’t have to have everything figured out to be here. But we do want you to know what we believe - and why it matters.

We believe there is one God, eternally existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is the Creator of all things, Sustainer of all things, perfectly good, and completely loving. God is sovereign and infinite, meaning He has no limitations. While He can be intimately known, because of His infiniteness, He can never be fully known.

We believe Jesus is the Son of God - fully God and fully human. He lived a perfect and sinless life, in order to be a holy and worthy sacrifice in our place. He was tempted as we are tempted, yet He did not fall into sin. He died on the cross for our sins, and bodily rose from the dead three days later. Through Him, we find forgiveness, new life, and the invitation to follow Him as Lord.

We believe the Holy Spirit is God Himself - the third Person of the Trinity - fully divine and actively at work in the world today. He lives within every believer, guiding, comforting, convicting, and empowering us to live the life God has called us to live. He convicts the world of sin, gives assurance of salvation to followers of Jesus, and equips believers with spiritual gifts for the purpose of ministry. We are not meant to follow Jesus on our own; we are led and strengthened by His Spirit.

We believe the Bible is God’s Word - fully inspired, inerrant, true, trustworthy, and authoritative. It tells the story of God’s redemption and serves as our foundation for what we believe and how we live.

We believe every person is created in the image of God and deeply loved by Him.
At the same time, we all fall short and are in need of grace.
No one is beyond God’s reach, and no one is without need of His mercy.

Salvation is a gift of God’s grace that can never be earned through good works or self-improvement. It is received through faith in Jesus Christ. Through Jesus, we are forgiven, made new, and invited into a life of ongoing transformation. We respond to this gift by placing our faith in Him, turning from our sin, and confessing Jesus as Lord. As an expression of that faith, and in obedience to the teaching of Scripture, every believer is called to be baptized.

We believe we are saved by grace through faith, and baptism is the public expression of that faith in Jesus. Following the pattern of Scripture and the example of Jesus, we practice baptism by immersion, reflecting the meaning of baptizo - to immerse. This act is a symbol, and yet more than a symbol of of His death, burial, and resurrection, as well as our own new life in Him.

We believe the church is the body of Christ - a community of people learning to follow Jesus together. Christ is the head, and we are set on the mission He gave us: to make disciples and share His love. The church is not just a place you attend; it’s a family where you belong, grow, and serve.

We believe in regularly remembering Jesus through communion.
It is a time to reflect, give thanks, and center our hearts on what He has done for us.

We believe in the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ.
Our hope is not just for this life, but for the life to come—where God makes all things new.

Because of what we believe, we are becoming a certain kind of people.

We are learning to:

• Be Home - creating a place where people can belong
• Be Changed - allowing God’s grace to transform us
• Be Grounded - building our lives on truth
• Be Open-Handed - trusting God with what we have
• Be Together - choosing community over isolation
• Be Real - living with honesty and authenticity
• Be for the Next Generation - investing in those who come after us
• Be Joyful - choosing joy that isn’t based on circumstances 

Our beliefs aren’t just something we agree with. They’re something we live out.

Again, we don’t expect you to have everything figured out.
We don’t expect perfection.
We don’t expect you to believe everything before you walk in the door.
We simply invite you to take a next step.
